Balance Regatta 2025

On 15th May, we marked our first birthday with a very special event - our inaugural Balance Regatta. We gathered with friends from across the VC & PE community for a day of sailing, sunshine, and celebration, setting off from Lymington Yacht Haven and heading across the Solent to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight.

The day began with breakfast and refreshments at the marina before our group of six boats was allocated and briefed. With some friendly competition building, we set sail and enjoyed a series of races en route to Yarmouth. The weather couldn’t have been any better, and lunch at The Bugle provided the perfect pit stop in their fantastic beer garden.

With the wind dropping in the afternoon, crew had a chance to sit back and relax as we motored back across the water to Lymington. The day wrapped up with celebratory drinks on the yacht haven’s decking followed by a lively prize giving and buffet dinner at The Angel & Blue Pig on Lymington High Street where we all shared stories from the day.

As part of the event, we were proud to make a £1,000 donation on behalf of the winning boat to the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, a charity that helps young people rebuild their confidence and reconnect with their lives after cancer through the power of sailing. This was a fitting tribute!

The feedback from guests has been overwhelmingly positive. Balance Strategic Capital is a people-based business, so it meant a lot to bring everyone together in such a relaxed and friendly environment to catch up with those that we knew and to make some new connections.
